The new EU Sulphur Directive – Marpol VI

More stringent measures have been adopted by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO)
in relation to Sulphur Oxides, measures through the revised MARPOL ANNEX VI.
Within the Sulphur Emission Control Area (SECA) the maximum sulphur limit is reduced
to 0.10% as of 1st January 2015. As from then, all our vessels will switch from Heavy Fuel Oil
to Marine Gas Oil in order to comply with the new Directive.

As a result of the increased fuel costs, Sea-Cargo will introduce a MARPOL SURCHARGE (MAF)
for all the North Sea trades,being valid as from 1st January 2015.

The surcharge that will be added to the net Seafreight is set to

8,74%

being calculated based on the difference between HFO and MGO.
As of 1st of July 2015 this will will be incorporated into the BAF surcharge.
