SEA-CARGO WITH NEW RORO SERVICE BETWEEN
NORWAY & DENMARK!
Sea-Cargo is proud to introduce a new RORO Freight ferry service between ESBJERG and EGERSUND.
The first sailing will take place on 25th of February 2011 – and will operate on a rolling alternate day departure from each port with an overnight crossing. Departures will be at 1600 hrs both Northbound and Southbound – with arrival Esbjerg or Egersund the following morning at 08:00. Please find below a schedule plan for the first few sailings.
The service is initially backed by a contract with Siemens for transport of 26-32 windmills for the Høg-Jæren project – but it is Sea-Cargo’s intention to continue the service also following the completion of this agreement. The new line between Egersund and Esbjerg will complement the existing twice weekly service to/from Bergen, Risavika and Esbjerg – and will provide the area with a new and modern high frequency solution effectively bringing the entire “south west coast” closer to mainland Europe.
The new service falls directly in line with Sea-Cargo’s strategic model capitalising on the key factors of:-
- Offering an entry point in the south of Denmark - thereby reducing driving distances to major industrial areas
- Offering accommodation for driver accompanied trucks & trailers – or alternatively unaccompanied trailer eliminating “dead time” for drivers and truck units on the sea crossings.

This new service will be introduced in addition to all other routes and existing schedules.
