Sea-Cargo Skips AS and Nor Lines AS are pleased to confirm effective contracts for 4 newbuildings, with an option for eight more, at Bharati Shipyard Ltd in India.

The two first vessel are for Sea-Cargo (SC), followed by two for Nor Lines (NL). The option series, for up to eight additional vessels, are shared between SC and NL. The first vessel is to be delivered by 31st October 2006 - thereafter one vessel every fourth month.

 


 

Details of the ships are as follows:

Type: Multi purpose RORO/Cont.
Dwt: 5000 tons
Loa: 116,7 m
Beam: 18,0 m
Cargo gear: Roro ramp, sideport and 50tons crane
Capacity: 35 trailers, 200 teu + 1850m2 deck space
Speed: 16 knots
   

The contract are signed in connection with the companies ongoing fleet renewal programs, and is expected to be followed by new orders later this year.

Sea-Cargo is owned 60% by the Seatrans group and 40% by Nor Lines AS. SC operates 6 ships in a liner system connecting WC Norway, UK and the Continent.

Nor Lines is owned 50% by OVDS ASA and 50% by DSD ASA. NL operates 13 ships in a liner system along Norwegian coast, and in services between Norway, Baltic, Sweden and Denmark. Details of Nor Lines can be found on: www.norlines.no
