Sea- Cargo AS expands its activity at Risavika Havn (www.risavika.no). Sea-Cargo and Risavika Havn have negotiated a Letter of Intent on the right of access and use of Risavika port and associated infrastructure.

The Letter of Intent sums up the main assumptions and conditions that the parties have agreed on and which will constitute the framework for the process toward entering of a final agreement between the parties, on the right to access to the quay, the building of a terminal, and the use of other infrastructure at Risavika port.

- It is strategically important for us to get a long-term agreement with Sea- Cargo, the largest liner operator operating to and from this area. says Managing Director of Risavika Havn AS, John Lunde.

- For Sea- Cargo AS it is of great importance to be able to expand its activities at Risavika. Risavika Havn is considered an important strategic partner through its geographical location, amongst other in view of the existing plans for setting up an LNG facility in the area, says Managing Director of Sea- Cargo AS, Ole Sævild. The new facility enables us to continue to develop Risavika Havn into the main hub for traffic between Europe and western Norway.

Risavika port is today one of the largest and leading ports in the country. Through an expansion of the port area by around 100 acres, port capacity is now being boosted considerably. Completed, Risavika port will have an area of around 190 acres at its disposal, with approx. 1800 m quayage and 15 m depth. The new area will be ready for use early 2009.

Sea-Cargo AS is a leading line operator in the traffic between Norway and Europe. The company operates 8 multipurpose vessels in the North Sea – primarily between ports in western Norway and Denmark, Holland and the United Kingdom.
Sea-Cargo has four ships under construction, and its new building programme has the environment in focus.
