Sea-Cargo, 1st July 2009

Sea-Cargo AS is to establish a base in the new area in Risavika Harbor. The parties have negotiated a contract for the right to access to the wharf, the establishment of a terminal and use of other infrastructure in Risavika Harbor. The contract comes into force on 1 November 2009 and runs for a period of at least 10 years. In a 10 - year perspective, the contract will be worth well over NOK 100 million.

- For Sea-Cargo, it is of great importance to expand its activity in Risavika. Risavika Harbor is an important strategic partner through their geographic location, among other things, set against the background of the development of the port as an international logistics centre. Sea-Cargo would like to contribute to the further development of Risavika Harbor, "says Managing Director of Sea-Cargo AS, Ole Sævild.

Risavika Harbor is today one of the largest and leading ports. By the expansion of the harbor area of by a further 400,000 sqm, the port will be strengthened further. Risavika after completion of this final phase will boast a total area of circa. 900,000 sqm and quays in excess of 1800 meters and 15 meters depth of water.

 

Sea - Cargo AS is one of the largest line operators for traffic between Norway and Europe. The company operates seven ships in the liner traffic in the North Sea - in the routes between ports in western Norway and Denmark, Netherlands and United Kingdom. Sea-Cargo currently has four ships under construction, and, through the new building program puts a significant focus on the environment.
